Principles Of Internet Marketing
On my resource website I have placed the following: “To get rich uneed a business. To build a business uneed customers list or downline. To attract customers uneed advertising”
It’s really very simple isn’t it very basic.
Firstly you need a business. Maybe you already have one and you want to use the internet to advertise it. If you have not got your own business then you need to start thinking about what kind of business you want to be in. Although there is a wealth of businesses online wealth itself is one of the best businesses! That’s right teach other people how to make money.
Usually it is quite costly to buy shares in a business or even to start from scratch. And the internet is no different. There are lots of business ideas that can cost huge amounts of dollars draining your financial resources. But the good news is that there are also a lot of products online that don’t cost more than a few dollars to buy into and many of them have a good possibility of successful profits. I have bought into a number of these and I have listed them on my resource site.
The other way to get started cheaply is to become an affiliate marketer. This simply means that you sell someone elses product for them and they pay you a good commission. This commission is often between 70 and 90 percent.
The second part of my truism refers to the need for customers. And therein lies the rub. How do you attract customers? How do you get your customers to buy? And how do you keep them as ongoing customers who will buy more from you and even help you to sell your products and benefit themselves as well as you?
Promotion and advertising can be very expensive exercises. The big companies spend millions of dollars on advertising through television radio the print media online and whatever other ways they can dream up. It pays but you have to have the money in the bank. Most of us commoners don’t have that sort of money so we are looking for ways of advertising that will not cost us too much.
Fortunately the internet provides many free advertising opportunities. A lot of these such as safelists and traffic exchanges work on a quid pro quo basis; that is they will place your advertisement on their sites in return for you viewing other people’s advertisements for a period of 20 or 30 seconds. Others will place free advertisemnts for you in various places but they count on many of their free customers upgrading to placing paid advertisments with them.
When you have attracted your customers the method of keeping is to build a list that you can send more advertising to by email. This list is usually maintained by an auto responder. Here you can write dozens or even hundreds of emails which can be sent to your list of customers at intervals of your choice. Any new person you place on your list automatically starts receiving the emails from the beginning. The bigger your list the more likely you are to be able to sell more of your products.
Most of this involves your complete commitment and your acceptance that riches will come to you more through perspiration than through inspiration. Best of luck on your journey.

Paid Advertising – Is It Making You Money?
Hello again
Is paid traffic worth it? Here are a few things to consider before you start shelling out the bucks to promote your website whether you are promoting your affiliate site or your own product site.
First of all how fast do you want to start making money? Most people say are you crazy? Right now! but hold off for a second. The majority of people do want fast cash but believe me its not that easy. The fastest way to make money online is to:
1 Pick a real winner right out of the gate
2 Use PPC pay per click or other paid advertising
Now Im not saying thats hard because there are lots of great products you can start making money from almost instantly. However you must do your research if you really want to make money using PPC! Many will tell you just find a few good keywords create your ads and start raking in the dough! Yeah right.
The problem is if it is a really good product chances are there is lots of competition! And you know what that means the cost per click is going to be steep. Heres an example of what I mean:
I use a website called www.keywordspy.com to check keyword prices for comparison. If you type in the search term diet pill you find that there are 14900000 results for the term and it costs about 2.33 per click on average! Thats a very competitive market for sure. On the other hand if you type in the term stamp collecting you will find about 2260000 results and an average cost of .81 cents per click! The point is you can really see a difference in costs depending on the relative popularity of a topic. So if you want to start promoting a really hot item be prepared to pay the price up front. Of course dont forget you can limit the daily amount you pay for you PPC campaign using either Google or Yahoo. That way you dont break the bank before you start figuring out how to get sales.
So does that mean you cant or shouldnt do it? Of course not it just means be very careful of the products you promote and make sure if you do promote a hot product you do your keyword research very diligently before starting. That means finding the longtail phrases that people are using to buy your product not the 1 or 2 words they type into Google to research something or lookup a school assignment project! This article is too brief to go into great detail but there are plenty of tutorials for finding targeted keywords in your niche product. I suggest reading a bunch before shelling out the cash to PPC engines.
One of the other ways to do paid advertising is through banner ads which has been making a bit of a come back of sorts lately. For awhile the annoyance factor as well as the cost of these ads drove people away. However you will find some pretty costeffective sites that allow you to get quick traffic without spending a fortune. Some are a pay per view so you would pay a dollar amount for every thousand impressions of your ad are shown. Most sites charge per click just like the PPC model of Google so if nobody clicks your ad you arent charged. Again you have to weigh for yourself after some testing to decide whether your ROI is worth it are you making a profit above what your ads are costing? If not either you adjust your ad show it on a different site with more appropriate content to your product or move on.
No matter what type of paid advertising you use you have to do testing to gauge the results. Create several ads using different text to which words cause people to click the most. This is crucial in any PPC campaign! Luckily this type of testing is made pretty easy in both Google and Yahoo and you can create many ads to find out exactly which words work the best. In the mean time dont forget to use bum marketing techniques that get traffic too! Its the combination of free traffic and paid traffic that will eventually help you keep your costs down and thus make more money. Offline Gold For Online Marketers – How To Sell Your Online Marketing Skills
During the new year holidays I stumbled upon an interesting post written by Andrew Cavanagh in the Warrior Forum. The post is about how to make money by selling your online marketing skills to businesses right in you local city. This post went completely insane with thousands of views almost immediately and all kinds of positive comments.
Andrew who has over 25 years of experience in developing small businesses also written a 50page report called “Offline Gold For Online Marketers”. and sales. When I saw his new report I grabbed it immediately not because of its introductory low price 19.99 but the idea of selling our online marketing skills or services offline.
The idea of offline marketing is consistent with my thinking. Like I mentioned in my website before most online marketers are glue to their PC all the time but there are a few smart ones who also spend their time doing networking offline. Because these people know that there are gold mines in the offline world. But the question is… how do you promote and sell your online marketing skills offline?
If you’ve experience in building a small business before perhaps you know that the average business owner is very busy just trying to keep his business running. He doesn’t have the time to take a long hard objective look at the way he could improve his marketing strategy. But he is also acutely aware that anything that can improve his net profits will help to keep his business more stable and put real cash in his pocket! Most small business owners are well aware that they can always find time for someone who’s genuinely interested in helping them to improve their businesses and they’re willing to pay for it.
Now if you’ve some basic online marketing skills and are willing to walk into a business and just have a casual conversation about how they can improve their sales using the Internet a good percentage of them will listen. Of course besides having some basic online marketing skills you also need to learn how to talk to these business owners and understand their NEEDS. That’s why I find the report “Offline Gold For Online Marketers” so valuable because it outlines stepbystep how to approach small business owners so they want to listen to you and how to sell your services to them.
Here are some tips on where to find those small business owners and how to communicate with them…
I’m sure you’ve heard about Business Networking International BNI. If you haven’t heard of it before it’s basically a business and professional networking organization whose purpose is to provide a structured environment for the development and exchange of qualified business referrals. It’s the largest networking organisation of its kind in the world. I’m sure you can find them in your city.
They hold regular meeting for their members and if you know someone there you can ask him/her to invite to join their meeting for free. It’s a great avenue for you to get to know other entrepreneurs from different fields. Make sure you bring a lot of business cards if you attend one of their gatherings.
Just get to know people and have a casual conversation with them. My favorite technique to communicate with small business owners is to always remember to ask questions! For example let’s say he/she asks you first “what do you do for a living?”. My normal answer for that question is… “I have a homebased Internet business. How about you?”. Always remember to end your answer with a question. You need to get to know about your potential client and a great way to do this is to talk less and listen more ie. ask more questions.
Ask them if their businesses currently have a website? Most of them don’t. For those who have websites they have no idea what is online marketing and they have never made any sale from their websites. You must always in a position to gather information and seek the opportunity to talk about your services. Remember not to talk too much about yourself. Focus on your potential client. it’s enough to say that you have a homebased internet business and you also help small business owners to improve their businesses through online marketing. Ask them this question: “Do you think your business will do better if you have a website?”. Then LISTEN!
I hope this article has given you some great ideas on how to sell your online marketing skills offline. Click here to find out more about “Offline Gold For Online Marketers”.
